Customer Experience (CX) Sales Engineer

JourneyTeam is seeking a Customer Experience (CX) Sales Engineer who thrives at the intersection of technical solutioning and strategic sales. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently engage new customers, articulate business impact, and deliver tailored demos that go beyond out-of-the-box functionality. You’ll be a key driver of revenue growth, leveraging Microsoft CE, CRM, Contact Center, and Copilot AI solutions to solve real-world business challenges.

As a CX Sales Engineer, you’ll lead sales initiatives, collaborate with internal teams and Microsoft stakeholders, and operate as a co-pilot with your Sales Executive to guide customers through the buying journey with empathy, insight, and innovation. You won’t be executing delivery—but you’ll architect the vision that gets clients excited to move forward.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Sales Leadership: Drive new customer acquisition and influence revenue through strategic engagement and solution alignment.
  • Solution Architecture: Design customized demos and solution frameworks using Microsoft CE, CRM, Contact Center, and Copilot technologies.
  • Customer Engagement: Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover business needs and translate them into impactful technical solutions.
  • Trusted Advisor: Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders, guiding them through the sales process with clarity and confidence.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with sales, delivery, and Microsoft reps to ensure seamless handoffs and successful implementations.
  • Market Awareness: Stay ahead of trends in customer experience, AI, and Microsoft technologies to ensure solutions remain relevant and competitive.
  • Outcome Focused: Align solutions with measurable business outcomes and ROI, helping customers envision long-term success.

Qualifications:  

  • Extensive Experience: Over 10 years in pre-sales, solution architecture, or consulting within the Microsoft ecosystem or competitors

    CCaaS solutions, with a proven track record of contributing to revenue growth.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of CRMs, Contact Center Solutions, and industry best practices and implementation methodologies. Focus on Microsoft ecosystem is a benefit, not required. 
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to present complex technical solutions to C-level audiences, build high-value client relationships, and lead strategic sales initiatives.
  • Travel Requirement: Less than 10% of the time within North America for client engagements, conferences, and team collaboration.

90 Days
  • Fully own the pre-sales process and drive technical sales strategy for our customers
  • Achieve 100% quota attainment pace, directly influencing revenue
  • Position yourself as a trusted advisor with customers and Microsoft stakeholders
6 Months
  • Consistently influence revenue and meet pre-sales KPIs
  • Lead strategic sales initiatives and contribute to pipeline growth
1 Year
  • Exceed quota expectations and establish a strong presence in the Microsoft Partner Ecosystem
  • Drive long-term customer relationships and help shape JourneyTeam’s CX sales strategy

Compensation: 

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $165,000, with additional commission opportunities. On-Target Earnings (OTE) range from $250,000 – $300,000, depending on performance.

This is the established pay range for this role on the Sales team at JourneyTeam. Actual compensation is dependent on the skills demonstrated, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. In general, new employees can expect to start at the lower end of the range (with opportunity to grow and expand within the organization).
